Marissa Buchanan has been a Board Certified Counselor since 2006. She received her BA in Psychology at Auburn University in Alabama, then earned her Master’s degree in Human Development Counseling, specializing in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, at Vanderbilt University in May 2005. Her family moved to Knoxville in 2013 and has since made East Tennessee home. Marissa has a passion for working with adolescents which has her driven the last 15 years of her work as a school counselor.  She has supported many teens through their struggles, whether it’s the more common growing pains associated with adolescence and life changes, or the more complex challenges of anxiety, depression, or self-esteem.
